Hello members, Am seeking for information on Production of chewing gum. We are planning to incorporate our locally available functional Ingredients into it. Please guide me on the basics of chewing gum production
For that matter ,then the easiest resource material you can read is from.the Patent files of many countries, ex USPTO, European patent office etc.
FYI during my confectionery training I did experience chewing gum processing but it’s not my interest.as it’s a messy and tacky undertaking with limited input for creativity plus it’s the least attractive among confectionery materials to undertake.
BTW.I remember there were some foreign companies in the past that added functional ingredients to the chewing gum base. So your idea will work.
Gum base 20%.
(acid or non acid base)
Icing sugar. 57%
Flavour 0.6-1%
Colour. 0.2%
Glucose. 22%
Glycerine. 0.5%
Citric acid if use acid base QS
Functionals
Functional lecithin for brain
Caffeine if country allows
Energy vitamin batch if want energy type
Calcium Gluconate if want calcium enrichment
Vitamin c
Calcium carbonate (in gum base)
Sugar free with Iso malt for Plague removal etc.
